Red Herring reports on Gameloft’s first-half earnings statement, which gives mad props to iPhone gaming.
In short, Gameloft lost $1.2 million for the first half of this year, but it is confident that its investment in the App Store will be a big source of growth going forward.
The French mobile games publisher currently has 7 games for sale on the App Store, including the recently released Asphalt 4. It plans to release another 8 games by the end of 2008. No other publisher is likely to have 15 iPhone games out on that schedule.
Gameloft is apparently geared up for Google’s Android mobile operating system, too. Android may be vaporware right now, but it is clearly starting to build up some buzz in industry circles.
