If you’re one of the thousands of people in love with the tactical game Frozen Synapse, get ready to turn up the heat: Frozen Synapse is making the leap from PC and Mac to iPad and Android tablets later this month.
Frozen Synapse is a simultaneous turn-based strategy game that hit Steam in 2011 to great critical acclaim. You command a small army of soldiers in a battle against a corporate regime. In the singl-player campaign, your goal is usually to shoot down enemy combatants, though there are instances wherein you protect hostages or escort other characters. The game’s multiplayer modes are likewise varied, featuring deathmatches, hostage rescue, and area protection.
Needless to say, Frozen Synapse for mobile platforms features the single player campaign as well as multiplayer. Even better, Frozen Synapse mobile is cross platform: You can start a game on your PC and pick it up again on your tablet. You can also move waypoints with your finger, and pinch and zoom to tweak your view of the battlefield.
We wrote about Frozen Synapse coming to iPad way back in 2011, so it’s nice to see the game near the final steps of its conversion. Look for it on the iPad by May 16 (price is yet to be announced). The Android version will follow at a later date.
