One dollar seems awfully high for an iPhone game these days, doesn’t it? With prices this low, the only thing left to do is give away the entire thing for free. Don’t miss out on these amazing downloads– they’re guaranteed for free today, only.
Kona’s Crate shows you how to move around heavy objects, witch-doctor style. You have to use a rocket-powered platform to transport crates from one side of the level to another, tapping the sides of the screen to activate each jet individually. It may not have a huge amount of variety, but for free, you’ll still get a lot of great levels and a fun physics engine.
Our Score: 3 out of 4
Our Bottom Line: Kona’s Crate is a simple and engaging physics-based platformer, but it lacks some of the variety we were hoping for.
We featured Rocket Claw in a recent Under The Radar, and now you can download it for nothing. This high-score game involves tapping on the screen to rescue free-floating spacemen, and also mining asteroids for gems. You can buy more gems as in-app purchases, but we had plenty of fun earning them by playing the game itself.
Dark Nebula – Episode 2
Don’t worry if you never played the original Dark Nebula— grab this excellent sequel today for free, while you can. This ball-rolling game is controlled by tilting the device, and jumping with a tap on the screen. You’ll have to avoid numerous laser traps and deadly pits, all set in some gorgeous environments. Dark Nebula is one of the best rolling platformers on the App Store, so we couldn’t be happier to see it available for free.
Our Score: 4 out of 4
Our Bottom Line: The second chapter of Dark Nebula improves on the original where improvements needed to be made. A great game just got better.
Infect Them All
Just in time for Halloween, here’s a free zombie game that’s pretty good! You play as a zombie trying to spread his infection to as many humans as possible. Some humans will try to attack you, though, so you have to avoid them while biting brains left and right. Remember: Infect Them All is only free for a limited time, but spreading disease is always free.
Our Score: 3 out of 4
Our Bottom Line: Playing as a plague-spreading zombie is a lot of fun, especially when you have an undead army to back you up.
