At the “Flash On The Beach” conference yesterday, Adobe Systems’ Senior Director of Engineering Paul Betlem mentioned that his team is almost done with Flash Player for the iPhone. Betlem had no idea whether Apple would actually put it on the App Store, though. As we know, Apple already slammed the door on Flash once for the iPhone version of Safari.
A Flash app could be a very significant development for iPhone gaming; can you imagine accessing Kongregate’s thousands of free Flash games from the comfort of your iPhone? Apple certainly has, and we can’t imagine they like the idea of turning the Internet’s Flash entertainment firehose loose on their tidy new platform, given the App Store’s newfound strategic importance.
