De Blob Revolution Review

Posted by Tim Rattray, March 11th, 2010

In his previous iPhone adventure, De Blob colored his city and saved the population from the color-hating INKT Corporation. But that was only the beginning. In Revolution, everybody’s favorite superhero blob is infiltrating INKT’s color-erasing factories to save his fellow city dwellers. While the sequel doesn’t retain the “open-area” feel of the original, the randomly generated puzzles found here offer great entertainment.

Thumpies Review

Posted by Tim Rattray, March 10th, 2010

Some games bring unexpected amounts of lovable charm. You might not like Thumpies at first due to its creepy bouncing heads, but once you start playing, it's nearly impossible to put it down. Varied, original music and plenty of unlockables have these thumpies bouncing their way right to the top.

Radio Flare Redux Review

Posted by Tim Rattray, March 9th, 2010

After the first Radio Flare launched, we immediately found ourselves hooked to its addicting music-themed gameplay. The way the enemy explosions synced perfectly with the beat was an incredible experience and one we have continued to go back to. Unfortunately, the sequel lags behind in the beat department, but it does do a lot of other things right to justify a purchase.

Posted by Tim Rattray, March 4th, 2010

In real life, working on a farm can be a drag, especially when it involves feeding animals and weeding plants. But what if you took your tools to new, intergalactic pastures full of cranky aliens, colorful environments, and spickens? As shown by Astro Ranch, it is definitely an improvement.

Transformers G1: Awakening Review

Posted by Tim Rattray, February 25th, 2010

In recent years, Transformers have changed from kid-friendly robots in disguise to monstrous mechs duking it out in action flicks in front of the scantily clad Megan Fox. Transformers G1: Awakening hearkens back to the classic TV show, telling the story of the first encounter between the Autobots and Decepticons after crashing down to Earth. Whether or not this franchise is of interest to you, Glu’s game is a refreshing take on the turn-based strategy (TBS) genre, simplifying the core gameplay to make it more accessible, while giving it a cinematic feel missing from similar titles.
