ZombieSmash Review

Posted by Andrew Podolsky, Yesterday

Last summer we played a lot of Knights Onrush, a game where you flick and smash attackers who are trying to break down your castle door. That was probably the best example of a “castle defense” game on the iPhone, and it set the bar very high. Since then we’ve played lots of similar titles, and ZombieSmash adds just enough new, like absurd weapons and goofy physics, to make it worth trying as well.

Caligo Chaser Review

Posted by Andrew Podolsky, 2 days ago

A wonderful thing is happening right now in mobile gaming. For years, the Korean cellphone gaming marketplace was far more advanced than the American market. In Korea, gamers were having in-depth RPG and adventure experiences on their cellphones while the rest of us were getting by with just Tetris and Snake. Now that the iPhone has taken hold, Korean developers like Com2Us can easily port over their insanely detailed and addictive games to the US App Store, resulting in gems like Caligo Chaser.

Undead: The Last Refuge Hands-On Preview

Posted by Andrew Podolsky, March 10th, 2010

iPhone gamers love options. After all, there are tens of thousands of them competing for the dollars in your games budget. With that in mind, Bulkypix and Magic Pockets have an offer for you: Take Call of Duty: World At War: Zombies, subtract about six or seven dollars from the price tag, add more zombies, OpenFeint high scores, and bring the setting up to modern times. It may not have online multiplayer, but that still sounds like a good deal to us.

Devil Invasion Review

Posted by Andrew Podolsky, March 10th, 2010

The end is nigh! Horrible, unspeakable devils have risen from the depths to lay waste to our cities. As you draw your bow or start to mumble a fireball spell, you might pause for a moment, because these devils are downright adorable-- they look more like a line of plush dolls than the end of the world. It’s hard to have to fight back when they disarm you so effectively with their cuteness.

Posted by Andrew Podolsky, March 2nd, 2010

Now they're lending Dreamworks their flying game developer chops with a tie-in to the upcoming movie, How To Train Your Dragon.
