Earthcore: Shattered Elements is a card-battling game that’s currently in soft launch in Canada. Put together by Tequila Games, Shattered Elements carries an obvious influence from the wildly successful Hearthstone. 148Apps’ Jennifer Allen has some favorable early impressions of the game, which is set to launch worldwide sometime in May.
As it stands, Earthcore: Shattered Elements already seems pretty appealing and potentially quite challenging, even for experienced CCG players. With further refinements planned for its already seemingly extensive campaign mode, as well as some tweaks to balancing, it can surely only get better.
Kiloo’s highly-anticipated action game Stormblades looks great, but according to Apple N’ Apps’ Trevor Sheridan, it’s an uninspired Infinity Blade clone.
Stormblades lacks any real engagement or intriguing challenge leaving you monotonously swiping the screen. It would be great to see any kind of nuance to the formula, but there’s just nothing new here.
Need a good top-down racing game to keep you company? Touch Arcade has a hearty recommendation for Rush Rally, a game that reportedly nails the physics behind driving.
What makes it all the more impressive is that Rush Rally is the product of just two people, both of whom have history in the game industry and both of whom have worked on some very popular and beloved racing games throughout the years. They took all their knowledge and poured it into their very own racing engine, which powers Rush Rally.
