One highly inconsiderate CEO from McGraw Hill has officially spilled Apple’s beans with regards to the Apple tablet. While speaking on a stock market watch program on CNBC, Terry McGraw said that his company’s textbooks will in fact be appearing on the yet-to-be-announced device, and that Apple will be announcing it tomorrow.
Interestingly, he acknowledges that Apple hasn’t made an announcement yet. Normally these things can come from a slip of the tongue, but McGraw just puts it all out there knowingly.
“We have worked with Apple for quite a while,” McGraw said on the program. “And the Tablet is going to be based on the iPhone operating system and so it will be transferable.”
“So what you are going to be able to do now– we have a consortium of e-books. And we have 95% of all our materials that are in e-book format on that one. So now with the tablet you’re going to open up the higher education market, the professional market. The tablet is going to be just really terrific.”
Now that the cat is out of the bag, we just have to wait for it to be let out of the official bag again tomorrow. The mystery isn’t over yet. We still need Apple to tell us exactly why this thing needs to be in our homes and backpacks. What exactly will it do that makes it so special? How much will it cost, and when can we get one? We’ll find out tomorrow.
