Big Game Night: Warm Gun and Siegecraft

Wednesday, iOS 5, the newest iteration of the operating system that runs your iOS devices, will be unleashed on the world, and two games that take advantage of new features are launching just in time. Click ahead for this week’s New Zealand App Store links, trailers, and recommended reading.

    Warm Gun

The post-apocalypse has a distinctly Western flavor in this online shooter from developer Emotional Robots. Warm Gun is a full-on first-person shooter powered by the Unreal Engine. You’ll be able to choose between four character classes and get your frag on in five different maps, all of which feature various traps and triggers for causing extra harm to your opponents. There’s no single-player campaign, but if online competition is what you love, Warm Gun looks like a promising new title. Warm Gun will run on third-generation devices or newer, and is a universal app.

    Siegecraft

Siegecraft is the latest game to be published by Crescent Moon, the folks responsible for titles as varied as Aralon, Gears, and Deadlock: Online. Siegecraft is a game of physics-based medieval warfare that lets you play as knights, vikings, or samurai, as you lay waste to your enemies’ strongholds. The game also lets you play turn-based battles with your Game Center friends over iOS 5, and syncs your progress to all of our iOS devices using iCloud.
