Big Game Night: Oceanhorn, Epoch 2, and More

It’s Wednesday in North America, but our time-travelling friends in New Zealand are currently experiencing Thursday. That means it’s time to peer into the future and get a look at the biggest game releases due to arrive worldwide at midnight. This week, a huge Zelda-inspired adventure makes landfall, a post-apocalyptic robot struggle gets a follow-up, and the art of stealth goes corporate.

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas has been a long time in coming. It’s a sprawling, gorgeous-looking adventure game that channels The Legend of Zelda in many regards. A young hero takes up a sword to save the world, but hacking and slashing isn’t all there is to this hero business. He must also sail the wide seas and explore the black depths of dungeons. This one’s looking fine.

Epoch 2

Humans may think they’re the masters of never-ending war, but we’ve got nothing on robots. Epoch 2 is an action/shooting game that picks up where the (excellent) original title left off. The battle robot Epoch must travel across tattered battlefields in order to find the one person he was built to protect: Princess Amelia. Why don’t more fairy tale princesses consort with robots?

Stealth Inc

Stealth Inc is a puzzle/platforming game that’s already found success on other platforms as Stealth Bastard Deluxe: Tactical Espionage Arsehole. Interesting title — one that’s guaranteed not to fly with the mainstream world. A prisoner by any other name creeps just as stealthily, however, and Stealth Inc is sure to please you if you’re a fan of Metal Gear Solid-style sneaking. It’s just you, your wits, and your stealthing googles.
