Big Game Night: LEGO Batman, House of the Dead, and More

If Wednesdays are good for anything, they’re good for launching some of the week’s biggest games on the App Store. Each Wednesday at 8pm PST, you’ll find big new games releasing in hopes that they’ll be featured by Apple on Thursdays. These are just a few of the big new games launching tonight, so click ahead for your pre-release coverage and early iTunes links!

The House of the Dead: Overkill – The Lost Reels

The classic zombie shooter series comes to iOS tonight in the form of select levels from the Wii/PlayStation 3 game House of the Dead: Overkill. With tons of zombies needing to be killed (again) and decent controls for you to do the killing, The Lost Reels might be worth picking up.

Iron Man 3 – The Official Game

Iron Man 3 is a free-to-play endless flying game, packed with obstacles to avoid, enemies to blast, and alternate suits to collect. Gameloft has been in the free-to-play business for a while– with mixed results– so we’re hoping this one is worth playing.

LEGO Batman: DC Super Heroes

Gotham City is under attack, and it’s up to the likes of Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the Flash to put a stop to it. It’s about time the DC superheroes got the LEGO treatment on iOS. We were big fans of the LEGO Harry Potter games, so we hope this one meets our high expectations.

Robot Unicorn Attack 2

The original Robot Unicorn Attack was a wonderfully weird– but also very barebones– endless runner. The sequel is a free-to-play game that’s based on those same bare bones, but with all kinds of new layers set on top of them. You can customize your unicorn, buy power-ups, run through multiple environments, and listen to several background tracks. We’ve been playing and loving it all week.
