Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey thinks that Take-Two Interactive will be bringing Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars to the iPhone.
GTA: Chinatown Wars is due out early next year for the Nintendo DS. Its control scheme apparently makes heavy use of the DS’s touch screen capability (this article describes its UI as “based on a PDA”), so an iPhone port could be a natural fit.
Obviously, an iPhone GTA would be a tremendously significant step towards the platform’s recognition as a full gaming console; there is no bigger “core” property in all of video gaming, excepting Halo, perhaps. We wonder how Take-Two would approach the game’s price point, though, as the DS game will probably cost $30-40. How much would you pay for GTA on your iPhone? Let us know in the Comments.
