Apple announced today the latest sales figures for the iPad. Although we were not terribly surprised by the numbers, we can’t help but be pleased that our favorite tablet is doing so well right out of the gate, even without enjoying the benefits (yet) of the latest iOS. Find out the details after the break.
To date, Apple has sold more than 3 million iPads worldwide. Yes, in just 80 days, the iPad has become, without a trace of doubt, the tablet to beat. Breaking that down further, Apple is selling roughly 37,500 iPads a day.
‘People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily lives,’ said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. ‘We’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world, including those in nine more countries next month.’
With the list of countries growing, we can only assume that the sales numbers will continue to grow. And with 11,000 of the 225,000 apps in the App Store being designed for the iPad (with new apps introduced on a daily basis), there’s plenty of content out there to enjoy.
