2D Platformer Chop Chop Caveman Announced

Gamerizon has just announced that they’ll be releasing a side-scrolling platformer called Chop Chop Caveman on November 25. Featuring the usual cartoony Chop Chop art style, the game will be a universal app, with built-in Retina display graphics, and will be released at a special launch price of $0.99.

The storyline is about as simple as they come: You play as a hungry caveman on a quest to chow down on delicious dinosaur meat. The game will have 20 levels that contain physics puzzles, boss fights, and hidden collectibles. Both OpenFeint and Game Center will provide achievements and leaderboards. Check out the video below and the screenshots to the right of this article.

We don’t have details on the control scheme, but they say that, consistent with the rest of the Chop Chop series, all you need is one finger to control the action. While we usually tend to prefer using a d-pad and action buttons on a platformer (like in Soosiz and Pizza Boy), the tilt controls in Bounce On 2 worked admirably. So let’s hope Chop Chop Caveman finds a way to make its touch controls work just as well.

We’re fans of the Chop Chop series, which includes Chop Chop Ninja, Chop Chop Tennis, Chop Chop Soccer, Chop Chop Hockey, and Chop Chop Runner. That’s a lot of Chops. We also love us a good platformer, so we’re interested to see how this one turns out. Looks like we’ll have to wait for Thanksgiving to know for sure.
